I am often asked about the Church possibilities in Cuenca, specifically church services in English.
For those of you looking for an English speaking service, you have several of choices that I’m aware of.
The Gathering is an English speaking, inter-denominational Christian fellowship made up of Expats and Ecuadorians, and has weekly Sunday fellowship at 9-61 Calle Tarqui between Gran Colombia and Simon Bolivar, upstairs in DiBacco Restaurant in downtown Cuenca, Ecuador. The Gathering is associated with Unsion, Pastor Bill McDonald and Groupo 608, as the English speaking fellowship. The Gathering is focused on praise and worship, and bible study. For more information, email: email@example.com or visit http://www.thegatheringec.com
The Cuenca Christian Fellowship (http://www.facebook.com/CuencaChristianFellowship) offers a bible study combined with Praise and Worship, and meets on Thursday afternoons in Cuenca. Please check their Facebook page for the current locations and times.
Calvary Chapel Cuenca is located near 3 Bridges (Tres Puentes) just off of Avenida Solano. They offer a service in English at 10:00 every Sunday morning. For more information on this church, here is their website: www.calvarychapel.ec/
Cuenca Christian Church is located at 6-23 Simon Bolivar is between Presidente Borreo and Hermano Miguel. They offer a Sunday Worship Service from 10:00 am – 11:00 am. You can find more on their website here: http://www.cuencachristianchurch.com/
Iglesia Paz de Dios, is located on 27 de Febrero, on the campus of the Bilingue School, about a block west of Ave. Solano, just before the Tres Puentes. A feature of the service is hymn singing. My understanding is that they offer an English Service once a month but you’ll need to contact them for the most recent information.
Iglesia Envagelica La Puerta is also located on Avenida Solano and if there are English speakers in the congregation, then the service will be in both Spanish and English.
Verbo is a Spanish speaking church but offers headphones and someone who translates the service into English.
I will try to get specific addresses for each group and update this post.
